Although I am typically not a fan of lyric videos, I have to say that my opinion has completely shifted after seeing Balboa Son’s “Pray To God”. This visually stunning music video takes you on an insightful walk through a forest, where the powerful single’s lyrics are strategically placed on signs.
Balboa Son has truly outdone themselves with this emotionally-charged song that takes listeners on a journey through life’s ups and downs, from rough paths to regret and ultimately acceptance. Aleksi Oksa’s insightful lyrics paired with bombastic riffs and pummeling drum beats create a perfect canvas for this powerful anthem.
The meaning behind “Pray To God” not only opens up a world of interpretation for listeners, but also showcases Aleksi Oska’s talent for writing lyrics that resonate with people on a spiritual level. This song can be seen as a prayer to anything, from money to drugs to vanity, which gives it even more depth and complexity.
But Balboa Son’s evolution doesn’t stop there. They have now become a quintet with the addition of the talented Atte Nuottajärvi on drums, who is also a respected tattoo artist at Hard Rock Tattoo. “Pray to God” is just the beginning of their musical journey, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.
