LATE '90s R&B VIBES: "FOMO" BY ELHAE TAKES US BACK!

When I first listened to “FOMO” by Georgia-raised singer, Elhae, I closed my eyes and the overall vibe took me back to the late ’90s when I came home from school and only listened to R&B tunes, singing along to the love songs artists produced back in the day. Think Joe’s “Love Scene”, Brian McKnight’s “Anytime”, or anything on Beatfactory Groove Essentials Volume 1  (hit me up on socials @thatchickkrys if you remember that one!). Just clean, simple but memorable beats, paired with thought-provoking lyrics and butter-smooth vocals.

I used to think once I grew up and met Mr. Right, he would sing me one of these tunes to express his undying love for me. We would get married, have two adorable kids, living in our downtown loft, raising them on great music.  {Spoiler: none of this happened, but I was a big dreamer. haha}

Elhae’s “FOMO”, produced by Ayo The Producer (Cardi B, Meg Thee Stallion) is about giving a new, safe and healthy relationship a chance after the last person left you jaded.  This catchy, vibey tune gives the listener a glimmer of hope that maybe -just maybe- someone out there will make you feel safe in a relationship again one day!

Three years after his singles “Needs” and “Bang Your Line” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] have collectively garnered over 44 million Spotify streams, Elhae graced the stage at Coachella in 2018 (The “Beychella” year).

BET has announced that on Sunday, November 28th, 2021, Elhae will be a performer at The Soul Train Awards on BET’s Amplified Stage. The show airs at 8pm EST/PST on BET and BET Her.
