Sometimes the best dreams come to fruition organically by simply enjoying the little things, such as re-watching every season of your favorite television shows. For Texas-based dream pop artist, KellyMarie, her long-awaited album, It Is My Album was entirely inspired by her favorite show, The Office!
I first heard her refreshingly cheery and super sweet single “Us Again” a few months back, and though it was based on fictional characters, it struck a chord, reminding me of an experience I had many years ago. You can read about that here.
While still keeping the upbeat energy and theme of storylines from The Office, KellyMarie slowed things down with her single “Beach Day”, which is based on the iconic scene from the “Beach Games” episode, written from Pam’s point of view as she musters up the courage to break off her engagement with Jim in front of everyone.
KellyMarie’s dulcet vocal tones, and the retro “doo-wop” energy in contrast to the sadness of the subject matter will help allow anyone in similar “cold feet” situations feel their feelings with a softer blow!
