I love beautifully-animated music videos, paired with hauntingly beautiful, masterfully arranged and produced music. It reminds me of my childhood when I used to rush home after school to indulge in my favorite cartoons, and appreciate how cohesive the music is with the animation! can’t be the only one who did this…
Anyway, French artist, Kwoon takes us on an animated coastal journey in his latest video for “King Of Sea”, which was directed by Stéphane Berla (director of the clips of Dionysos, M, Matmatah, of the feature film La Mecanique du Coeur). The video illustrates the life of sailors of Brittany (France) who were lost at sea.
Kwoon composed his single “King Of Sea” at the lighthouse of Tevennec, in the middle of the ocean in Finistere. This lighthouse has a terrifying reputation among seamen, since many strange nad mysterious events have taken place here, referring to it as “the gateway to hell”. He released a live performance recording at this lighthouse, which can be found here.
