The El Mocambo: one of those music venues in Toronto I am so glad to be mentioning post-pandemic and after its 5-year renovation! This venue has showcased some of the greatest bands, including Rolling Stones, who is releasing their Live at the El Mocambo, 1977 album!

Want to have an authentic Toronto music scene experience? Saturday May 7, 2022 is a date to mark your calendars, as Toronto- based rock band, One In The Chamber is holding their Reload album release party in the Starlight Room at the legendary venue, with special guests, Foolproof and Drop Top Alibi

One In The Chamber consists of Mike Biase (lead vocals/guitar),  Cecil Eugene (lead guitar), Christian Dotto (bass) and Gerrod Harris (drums).

Since the ensemble’s 2015 formation, the four-piece group has released two EPs, seen two of their singles hit airwaves across North America, Australia and the UK; featured on Loudwire’s Weekly Wire Spotify playlist; surpassed 100,000 Spotify plays from their debut EP I’ve Got Something To Say;  shared the stage with Scott Weiland, Derek St. Holmes, and Darby Mills, while also playing festivals with The Offspring, IllScarlett, and Sumo Cyco; performed across Ontario plus played at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas; was named ‘Best Rock Band’ of 2020 by Blue Rhymez Entertainment; were semi-finalists in 97.7 HTZ FM’s 2020 RockSearch competition; featured live on Toronto’s CP24, among many other notable accomplishments.

They have been compared to the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Mötley Crüe. On top of those comparisons, as I first listened to their single “Blow” off their recent EP Reload (a FACTOR-funded project, recorded at Phase One Studios and produced/ engineered by Murray Daigle and engineered by Mike Smith), I got completely lost in the song, forgot who I was listening to, and vocally heard a bit of M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) in front man Mike Biase’s vocals! Is it just me, or do you hear that as well?

Influence-wise, the songs in the new EP lean more towards Greta Van Fleet, Dirty Honey, The Wild, and Crown Lands.
