Have you ever daydreamed about the possibility of iconic bands like My Chemical Romance and The Used teaming up to create a powerful ballad exploring the psychological impact of worldwide COVID-19 lockdowns? Well, look no further – Finnish alternative rockers St. Aurora have achieved that very feat, boasting a sound that would seamlessly blend among those aforementioned legends!

The inspiration behind “Locked Inside”  was drawn from the lockdowns caused by COVID-19 and the timeless fairy tale of Rapunzel. The song draws parallels to overprotective parents and how being confined indoors during the pandemic affected the mental health of individuals. By bringing these elements together, “Locked Inside” paints a vivid picture of the struggles faced by many during these unprecedented times.

Led by the immensely creative and unabashedly eccentric bassist Eemi Lamberg, St. Aurora has tirelessly molded their diverse mixture of alternative rock, post-hardcore, and raucous theatrics into a powerful and undoubtedly one of a kind sound that will leave you begging for more.

In 2022, British Metal Hammer magazine chose their single “Hold The Line” as one of the best new metal songs of the week and later awarded it a coveted spot on their Best Metal Songs of the Year 2022 list. Not only that, in 2023 they won a competition featuring their song “Going To Heaven” and it was included in the soundtrack for the widely renowned video game Cyberpunk 2077 (20 million copies sold at the time).
