This chill, yet upbeat surf rock song by Sam Wright highlights the duality of the pandemic: the intense desire to go back to “normalcy” while feeling trapped vs. the blessing in disguise of slowing down, being present in the moment, and appreciating our surroundings.
This song definitely has that “chilling on a sand bar at the beach during sunset” vibe, but it can easily be a “watch the snow fall from indoors whilst cozy by the fireplace” kinda vibe, as well!

Incoming strong but true statement: I haven’t heard a female R&B voice like this since Brandy and Tamia in the late ’90s! With many out there trying too hard to be edgy these days (I sound super old for saying that, but whatever), it’s truly refreshing to hear an emerging artist revisit the purity and softness of R&B love songs!
Heavily influenced by ’90s and early 2000s R&B and pop, she has taken on the mantle of combining all of these sensibilities together and creating something beyond the norm of what you hear on the day to day.

Just like the vocals, the lyrics of this song perfectly express and showcase vulnerability and strength. German songstress, LEEPA’s voice is a distinct mixture of youthful and mature; soft yet strong. I also love her ’90s/Y2K style in this video!
