“Me And My Friends Are Bullies”- Balloon Maker

Sweden

“Me And My Friends Are Bullies” is the second of three singles released leading up to the release of Swedish indie rock band, Ballon Maker’s debut album Field Trip, set to drop on September 30, 2022.

The song is about how people continue to slowly destroy themselves and the world, while not learning from previously made mistakes.

“Boys Love Beyoncé” – IMNOTJONES

London, UK

Two words: New nostalgia. The sampling of Destiny’s Child’s hit song “Bug- A-Boo” takes me back to when The Writing’s On The Wall dropped in 1999! I was a massive Destiny’s Child fan back in the day, so of course, I had to check it out!

“Boys Love Beyoncé” plays on the theme and lyrical journey of the original track, while diving into the concept of a man who is desperate to gain the attention of a woman any and every way he can.

IMNOTJONES is an up-and-coming London, UK-based  indie/experimental rap artist with a background in conscious rap and storytelling. He is heavily inspired by a love of both old and new school rap and hip hop. His music is influenced by artists such as J Cole, Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Tyler the Creator and Andre 3000.

“Ruins” – Drew Schueler X Kiki Halliday

United States

Drew Schueler joins Anti Gravity Seeker Music artist, Kiki Halliday, to make a beautifully heavy duet. Following Kiki’s recent success with sync placements on The Kardashians, Selling Sunset, and Queer Eye’, “Ruins” is based on the uncertainties of a relationship and holding on until there is nothing to hold on to. I think a lot of us could relate to this bittersweet, melodic tune at one point in our lives.

“Saturn” – Lush Fleece

Toronto, Canada

I love the “wobbly vinyl” sound in contrast to the crisp, calm vocals in the latest single from UK-born Canadian alternative R&B duo, Lush Fleece!

Honest, innovative and progressive, Lush Fleece is reinventing a  modern approach to R&B, creating their signature sound. Merging elements of classic soul and bedroom pop, Lush Fleece embodies the beating heart of Canadian Underground R&B.

“Saint” – Black Pines

Essex, UK

This powerful, atmospheric song is about losing someone and dealing with the permanence of them being gone: seeing and hearing them everywhere. To me, “Saint” by Essex, UK-based alt-rock band, Black Pines have encapsulated the emotions one go through as they heal from loss and grief. Starting the song off with a sad mood, and as the song progesses, it gets more agressive- matching the anger/frustration stage of grieving.
