Snidee’s musical journey began in Leicester, his birthplace in 1991. Growing up surrounded by music, it wasn’t long before he developed a passion for singing along to reggae rock and hip hop tunes that his family would play. At just seven years old, he received a karaoke machine for Christmas and discovered he could record demos on backing tracks by inserting tapes into the deck.
Snidee was a natural performer, and at the age of eleven, he competed in a talent competition while on holiday, making it through all the heats and placing second in the final. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he returned the following year and wowed the judges with his rendition of a Ricky Martin song in fluent Spanish, taking home the top prize. As he grew older, Snidee continued to hone his craft and began winning more talent competitions both within his school and around the country.
In 2003/2004, his passion for UK Grime music led him down a new path, and he started writing his own lyrics inspired by the likes of Kano, Wiley, Lethal Bizzle, and Crazy Titch. He even saved up to buy a USB condenser microphone to record his raps on Cool Edit using his mom’s computer. Two years later, Snidee joined forces with the well-established Leicester DSM, and together they toured supporting artists like Young Nate, Tinchy Stryder, N Dubz, and Skepta.
After taking a break from music for six years, he felt the call to return, and now Snidee is back and better than ever!
